FAQ
What camera do you use and why? My camera of choice is the full frame, 6K Canon C500 Mark II. A difficult decision had to be made at the time whether to go for the popular Sony Camera or choose a camera which has a much more beautiful image and skin-tones, I chose the latter as I felt that giving the best possible product to my clients was more important. With my camera set up I can transfer from a tripod to slider to handheld or to an Easyrig setup within seconds!
I’m able to shoot on most other systems too including, Arri, RED, Sony, Panasonic etc.
Are you a qualified drone operator? Yes I am! I am GVC and EU qualified which drastically reduces the rules of what non-qualified operators can do. I also have £10m public liability insurance and provide risk assessments. I can provide different drones to suit the needs for the production.
Do you operate gimbals and sliders? I have the perfect b-cam and gimbal set up! I use the new DJI RS3 gimbal with the Canon C70. Tested and balanced to even fit a matte box and filter and can be switched from tripod to gimbal in under a minute! I also have a slider that can be set up/switched in under a minute.
What is IRATA Level 1 and rope access? This is my qualification with IRATA International’s rope access system, a safe method of working at height where ropes and associated equipment are used to gain access to and from the work position, and to be supported there. This means I can get up high on ropes and get those unique shots, that even drones can’t do!
Can you travel? Yes, I love travelling! I have a carnet for all my equipment and I have a US I Visa. My equipment can be stored in Peli Cases and I have airplane safe V-lock batteries. I’m fluent in French, speak basic conversational Spanish and I have an EU ID card if needed. I’m also vaccinated against Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A/B, Tetanus, Typhoid, Rabies & Covid-19 Vaccination. Having travelled all my life, even as a child, I’m great at adapting to different communities and moving about.
What lighting do you use? I’m a sucker for good quality lighting but being quick is important too. I therefore use the Aputure Lighting System; COB, tube and flexible mat lighting which comes with an assortment of soft boxes to create beautiful flattering light on subjects which I can use and control quickly. I also use the Aputure 600x, a super powerful light which can be used, for example, through a window to re-create sunlight beaming through. I also use a variety of lighting grip and tools to perfect the final image.
Do you provide sound? Good sound is extremely important and I take it seriously! I use a variation of high quality sound equipment including the fantastic sounding DPA 2017 Shotgun microphone. I also use the brilliant Deity Theos Wireless system for lapel mics which has a RF scanning function and internal recording to ensure we have good quality captured sound at all times. For hiding microhpones I have an assorted pouch of accessories including URSA straps and Bubblebee.
I would always highly recommend bringing in a professional sound recordist to achieve the best results especially when shoots get busy and complicated! Get in touch and I can provide excellent recommendations.
Do you have transport? Yes, I have a Toyota Proace van called Max! He or she, depends on the day, can carry all the kit and more! Fear not, I also have two trollies to transport kit without having to break our backs! One of the trollies also perfectly fits in a black cab without having to unload and fold it, perfect for those shoots in and around London. I also have a clean driving licence and motorbike licence. I also have a speed boat licence.

Can you send footage over the internet? Yes I can! I’m very lucky to have blistering fast upload and download speeds. I can send 500GB of footage in less than 3 hours!
